Thank you Screwtape, that's kind of you to say so. Your own build is quite impressive. Reefstock sump, eh? That's what I have!

Did I miss your decision re Tunze vs VorTech(s)? Tomorrow I'll try to post a video of the back & forth action I get with one MP20 on pulse mode in a 4' 120 dominated by softies. The effect is hypnotic.

The Queen is a monster. I've had to culture her once, and as you can see she will need culturing again very soon. Her baby is over in Q's tank.

Thanks to Fritz, tomorrow night Q and I are going to mix pizza & beer with a video camera & see what happens. Should be interesting.

That darn Xenia came in as one single stalk on the Queen Sarc, and it ought to be pruned. Chad (Freshfish) said I could inject vinegar in the stalks I don't like (ouch!), & then Fritz said I could just clip it. Its motion is interesting, especially when it's hidden & I can choose to look at it or not, but now it has left its island and may end up polluting the tank if I let it get out of control. It may already be too late. Xenia is not my friend :-(

Now you KNOW you've already bought my vote (my stated reason being that you have an i-Tech -- voters are fickle :) but I still appreciate your comment ;) The coral you sold me long ago continues to thrive by the way; the white-skirted acan, DG's green Nephthia, Rhodactis, blue hairy mushrooms, & those strange green ones. Some of the best choices I ever made. I love 'em.

Thanks, yup, reefstock sump, I really like the thicker acrylic that was used.

I ended up going Vortech, I couldn't resist the reefcrest in anti-synch mode, it seems pretty much the ideal way to get lots of chaotic water movement at least on a 75. If you're getting swaying on a 120 with an MP20 I'm sure the water will surely be moving in mine with 2 MP40s on a 75, although I think I probably will have to dial them back a little at least in the beginning.

I'd love to see the queen swaying with the waves (along with all the other nice colonies you have in there), good luck with the video!

Thanks Li, I really am glad you said so. That blasto came in checked baggage on one of my return flights from Philadelphia, & the acans (of course) came from SWE. Each will become better protected.

I sometimes wonder about the spiritual component of reef-keeping. How attached we become to our fishes, our animals. And at what expense.

Ack. Time for bed.

Ben you are too kind! High praise indeed especially from an "old-timer."

You know what though? Credit goes to hypertech & zibba (among others) for their annoying incessant sermons on the importance of white balance & tweaking exposure. I learn sort of by osmosis sometimes. So the first thing I did when I opened the box was figure out how to set white balance. Here's what I did: Because the tank had gone dark, I turned on all the lights. Then I took a 1'x1' piece of white styrofoam from one of the many coolers I'm supposed to return to SWE. Then I submerged that piece of styrofoam in the tank to use as my standard. It was placed against the front glass, and it stayed in place because the Eurobrace kept it from popping back up to float on the surface. Then I pointed my POS at the styrofoam (it was blue as hell), held down the shutter, and the camera calibrated itself automatically. I don't know if that was the accepted way of doing it or not, but it seemed to work.

Owning a camera is almost as much fun as that Other Thing we all like.

Wow, I sense a calender photo. Tank looks great Jim. Is that dark green piece the Octo?
