We are just under 3 weeks away from our epic spring event! There are some great vendors lined up and there is some good buzz going.
The event committee has stepped up to fill some of the volunteer posts we need, but there are still a number of volunteer slots we would love to fill to make sure we have another successful Expo. None of these roles are high pressure or solo positions, with plenty of support from the BOD and event committee. Just to break it down:

Setup (Fri/Sat): This mostly entails helping vendors load in and making sure their needs are met. There will be a some club setup with the raffle table and signage, but mostly supporting the vendors. The site crew will have all the tables and chairs primarily set for us. It is always a fun time "backstage" with the vendors!
Welcome table: Not much security needed with a bunch of fish nerds. The "heavy" lift here is checking members on the list in for early entry. The rest is just being friendly and welcoming and answering any simple questions folks may ask. And keeping a decent headcount with a clicker (@arden-mjb is a master!)
Raffle table: Maintaining of the raffle table is good social fun. Selling tickets, answering questions and drawing folks into the table is a great way to spend the day. Come the actual drawing it is just drawing tickets, validating winners and making sure they get their prizes. We really just need help to move it along in a timely fashion. The club brings on a professional hollerer to call the drawing.

Cleanup: As with setup, this is mostly in support of our awesome vendors. Whatever help we can lend to get everyone broken down and loaded up in a timely manner is the goal. The club gear breaks down and packs up quickly. And the site crew does any table wrangling and trash hauling.
All in all it is a great way to add value to the event and to the club. Not only will you gain mad street cred.......vendors also often look favorably upon volunteers with some good deals
........we will have some spiffy T-shirts for volunteers this go round.......AND.... anyone who signs up for 2 slots will earn full membership for a year!! So let us know if you can throw down for any of these slots and come hang with us as we make it reef-geekin good time on April 5th!
