The club is gonna have a table at the upcoming Reefing USA show! The crew at Reefing USA is always trying to help build up the reefing communities that they throw shows in. We have been invited to be a part of their efforts on Sunday October 12th. It will be a great opportunity for us to reach out to and hopefully sign up some of the reef keepers out there that aren't aware of what we do. And build bonds with the vendors, many of whom come to our Spring Expo.

We did ask if they needed bodies for any setup/tear down help, but their crew is well seasoned in those regards. So we will just be having a simple informational table. Letting people know about our organization, guiding them to sign up on our forum, check out the Merch Store and mention our Spring Expo. We will have flyers signs and banners and all the good stuff to make it easy to inform and engage. The hope is to have 2-4 people at the table for the day from 11am-3pm, plus minor set up and break down. Volunteers will obviously get free admission, a year of full membership on the forum plus street cred and good deals with the vendors! I'll be there all day. So all I wanna know is...........WHOSE COMIN WITH ME!!!! 🪸 🐟👯‍♂️

We also still have to layout/design flyers and informational signage. If there is anyone with time, talent and energy in those regards, please reach out to @Reefer Oz to talk more about our needs. AND if anyone has any ideas on how we can promote the club, help Reefing USA and add value to the event, please shout em out here.

Happy to table from 10A-1P! Do I get a free coral frag too as one of the first 50 people? :p

Reefing USA help: could be useful to start making inroads with the hyper local (?) LFS owners like Rivershore Aquatics' Dan and Derrick in case there's an emergency "we need water" situation like with the expo last spring. I feel like Dan and Derrick would be happy to talk about what they can do to help and how they can get compensated for doing so. Alternatively just having TCMAS reefers being willing to bring water if necessary.

Club promotion: Raffles. For what, I have no clue. But raffles. Giveaways/Mini-booth of whoever's tabling similar to how TCMAS organized a swap area at the expo last Spring but more localized. Maybe an excel sheet of people's emails who are interested in joining the forum, so a mass email can be sent out later ("Hey, thanks for stopping by our booth at the Reefing USA event on Sunday! [3 line tcmas blurb] . We'd be happy to have you join our facebook page and our free forum! Perks include [blah]. Our next meeting is [blah]") That sorta thing.

Side note, do they have a full vendor list yet?

Thanks @ichthyogeek for being willing to throw down. Got you on the list. 💪

And you have some great ideas on water support. I'll see if that is something the Reefing USA crew would appreciate. We are definitely gonna try and make signing up easy with a QR code that directs folks to our signup page and some informational flyers. Maybe a laptop or tablet present as well for people to get a tease. Not sure what resources/energy we have for give aways, but worth exploring options. Email lists/CRM type of communication isn't really something we use, but may be worth exploring. And great call making sure to highlight any upcoming meetings!

I can come up, as long as nobody lets me buy anything 😂

Yeah buddy! If you can make the late shift, that definitely takes the load off.

I’m sorry for backing out on my commitment and, am sorry for myself as I was looking forward to this event. However, I need to attend a funeral this weekend and am not going to be able to work the booth. I hope there are others that will step up for this.

All good @blennieluvr, we have minimal responsibilities at this one. As much as I love geeking out with ya Cammie, and you will be missed, definitely be with your loved ones. Sorry to hear about your about your friend's father.

Thanks for asking about details @ichthyogeek. We will have minimal setup for the morning as we are just having an informational booth to try and bolster membership and represent the club. So other than some arranging of banners and flyers and such, we will be there to support any of the vendors needs as well. The ReefingUSA crew is well seasoned at preping for these shows and will do most of their setup on Saturday night, so even their needs should be minor on Sunday.

There may be more hauling of buckets and gear for the afternoon shift, as we will do what we can to assist these awesome vendors getting back home after a weekend of shows. @Woodyth, can I count on you for the lateshift?

If anyone else wants to join in the fun, we would definitely enjoy the company. Volunteers get in free, earn a years membership and will likely score some good deals with the vendors!💪🪸🥳

I plan on being there the whole time. Also plan on a good breakfast at either Hell's kitchen or Hen house before if anyone is interested.

Right, I'll show up at ~ 10am then, worst case I'll be there a bit closer to 11. Do we just walk in?

This is a good opportunity to wear those bright neon yellow volunteer shirts that were handed out at the spring TCMAS expo too....

Heck yeah! Wear that gear. I’ll sport mine. And bring shirts for any other volunteers. SUiT uP!🧥👌🏾
