Zoolan's 135 Oceanic Build (1 Viewer)

Time for an update!

The bad news is that I had a case of RTN. I suspect I pushed ALK up too fast and stressed the corals, because almost like clockwork I lost a coral overnight for 10 day straight. I also lost the tips of the rest of my SPS corals too. Since that time, things are stable and growing again.

I've added a remote frag tank to my system in the past week. It is really nice to not have frag racks in the main tank anymore. I also moved my mangroves out of the sump and into the frag tank so maybe they will grow some more. Here is a video of it:

I've also removed my GFO and am running Warner Marine EcoBAK pellets. I think the algae on the glass has gotten better, and the hair algae tufts I have are shrinking, but no dramatic changes so far.

Here is an updated video of the tank...its long, the glass is dirty, and I'm not a good videographer. You've been warned. :)

Scribbled rabit fish would take care of that hair. And the tank looks great!

are you running the Warner Marine EcoBAK pellets in the same reactor as you had the gfo in? just curious.

Nope. I considered it, but I was running GFO in the BRS dual reactor, and to be honest, was never real happy with it. I picked up a Two Little Fishies 550 reactor and am running it off my manifold.

i thought about doing the pellets, i saw the set up the BRS has and they have the RX for that purpose. looks nice but they are about $100.00 on up.

Depending on the size of your tank, that may work. I used a full litre of the pellets, so it would have been tight, even in double reactor.

Looks really great like the setup and tank is looking awesome. Is that a tenneti tang?

Yep. Kim has had her eye on one at World of Fish for a while, so I bought it for her as a surprise a few months ago. The colors on it's fins are just amazing...
