Cheezy's Eurobraced 210g SC aquariums (1 Viewer)

I hurried to get the scape and sand in so I could start the cycle before we left for Hawaii. Didn't have a chance to take any pictures.

I still have some work to do on the aquascaping, but this is what it looks like now. Getting ready to start my fish quarantining. I have a 1" pygmy filefish that is going to be the first addition. Some of you have seen him in his luxury 40B by himself. Now he's upgrading to a McMansion.

I still have to get the brackets built for the lights as they are driving me bonkers. I am going add a short piece between each of the lights to keep them all at the same height.

3 bipartitus wrasses and a CBB are in transit :)

Definitely will be the hardest fishes that I have tried to put through QT process. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sweet!
Did you get three females? Or is one a male? I'd like to compare my wrasse's colors with another male.
The difficulty associated with leopard wrasses is getting them to eat. If the wrasses are already eating prepared foods, they'll do well. My fish love the LRS Reef Frenzy frozen foods.
And making sure they have a place to bury themselves helps with acclimation.

Good luck!

I got 3 females. I figure at some point the dominant will transition.(which might be erroneous). If/when she does, I can shoot you a pic, or you can just stop by and see for yourself.

Do you know if the LA California facility use the same QT procedure as the Rhinelander facility? I would really not want to have to do a full copper or TTM treatment if I don't have to. If I have to just get them to eat, that would make things a lot easier.

I will try that LRS and see how that goes. Thanks!!

If the fish weren't in the Diver's Den offerings the order is fulfilled by a third party supplier like Quality Marine and doesn't go through any acclimation or quarantine procedures.

Christopher- You have crushed my hopes and dreams

QT tanks are taking over my basement. Just picked up a 20 L to QT the fish from this purchase.

Yeah... Chris will do that.
But when he does, he's right.

My only fish from LA that didn't come through the Diver's Den facility was my Kole Tang; and that was from five years ago. And that was a fish I had requested when it was out of stock, so I'm sure it wasn't at their holding facility very long either. The fish looked healthy arrival and has been great for me ever since.
Your hopes and dreams shouldn't be crushed, but you may have a little more work to do before you get there.

I found my leopard wrasses at Murray's and they had been in his shop for a few weeks and they were eating well when I bought them.
Just get them eating! You may need to pick up live foods if they don't take the frozen foods right away.
If they eat right away or it takes time, they're worth the effort.

I have bought several fish through Divers Den shipped direct from QM and they have all done well. You still get a 14 Day guaranty which is hard to beat.

A fresh DD shipment is on its way.
I got the bonded pair of flame hawkfish, a green pachyseris, and a photosynthetic plating sponge for this tank. The wife got a female red scooter for the sea horse tank.

What do my NCAA bracket and my fish budget have in common? They are busted! Went to the LA open house today and came home with enough fish to make the tank look reasonably stocked. I would like to get some pics up this weekend.

It's been a long time since I updated. I had been trying to figure out why my acros weren't doing well. I sent samples out to triton, checked magnets for breakage, parameters. In the end, Cypho and Jlanger suggested that I simply wasnt getting enough PAR to them. I started the ramp up and things are looking better. It's almost time to start moving some coral over from the frag tank. That is of course going to be after my vacation this week. Crossing fingers that I don't have anymore mechanical failures. Once I get them moved, it will be time to break out the SLR.

Pro tip: If your ATS stops growing algae, and the display shows signs of increasing nutrients, check to make sure the plug for your light is inserted all the way. That is all.

It's been a while, so I suppose an update is in order. The STNing is slowing down. I still get some basically whenever I do anything: water change, stir up sand bed, glue frags, change out carbon, adjust lights, etc. I guess that means that I should stay on autopilot. I am getting some good growth out of my maricultured piece I got 3 months ago. Frags from MACNA are slowing encrusting and the livestock seem to be fat and happy.

I do have quite a few aiptasia roaming around the tank. I added some Bergias 3 or 4 weeks ago. Looks like they are just starting to keep pace with aiptasia. I am also lucky enough to be getting some bryopsis growing in spots. I have been trying to coax the foxface and the blotched rabbit to eat it....they aren't biting.
Here are some hack pics of the tank. I don't know why I'm getting so much purple smudging in the photos. I'm not playing with saturation or anything, only adjusting temp to get an accurate color rendition. Maybe the experts will chime in.

Tierra del shortcake??? Not exactly sure what this is, but he thought it was a del fuego from BC

Not sure if this guy is a Miyagi or Cali tort. Either way, he made it through Power outage 2016

A trio of yellowstripe trevally were my carry on from MACNA. Super friendly fish. I like them a lot. I did, however, miss the fine print. Apparently they can get up to 4' in the wild. I guess I will enjoy them while I can.

The berghia were too good at their job, so I could not even keep enough aiptasia around to keep them propagated. I haven't seen any in the tank for a few weeks.

Whatever seemed to be causing my STN/RTN event seems to have mostly resolved. As best as I can tell, it was likely some sort of vibrio or viral infection.

My PC rainbow is starting to get some good branching as well as what I think is a maricultured A. austera colony. The red dragon frags have even made it. That is a record for me!

There are only a few patches of bryopsis remaining. The lone turbo snail might be munching on it. The ATS is functioning well now. Potentially, a little too well. I get around 100 grams of squeezed out algae every week, and my nitrates and phosphates are ND.

Quick pictureless update. Tank is stabilizing out. My bryopsis issue was starting to get out of control, so I employed some E. clarki lettuce sea slugs. In less than 2 weeks, the rock work is sparkly clean. Coral growth is starting to pick up. I'm slowly starting bring on some rox carbon, so I can get that crystal clear water back.

I am doing a nice aesthetic and functional upgrade in the near future with some the help of our favorite local wood fabricator. The details are top secret...or not so much. I'm sure there will be plenty of nice pictures of the update.
