How is the Potter's taking to the new Golden? A Golden has been on my want list for a long time, but I also have a Potter's so I'm a little worried about adding another dwarf. Yours is beautiful.

I took the wall down and saw little to no aggression. It was coming out quite a bit and then hid after that... incidentally it's desire to hide probably gives them time to adjust more. If day two is an different I'll let you know.

I also added a blue throat trigger which I was nervous about since both my tangs are grey bodies. They could have cared less and were eating side by side immediately, even my dominant tang. I think the wall really helped with this as I've witnessed that tang go nuts in past.

Nice Golden. I saw them come in at NW. I wouldn't be to concerned if the Golden hides. They come from deep water and like dim lit tanks from what I understand. I picked up one of the little yellow coral beauties Jen got in the same shipment. Have never seen a coral beauty so yellow. Good luck

At first I thought those were ill because they were so yellow, lol.

LOL - Evidently the Bali variant have alot more yellow in them. Its in QT now but a little nervous about releasing it as I have a few lobos and mostly SPS. Worried about nipping

@HouseofStark came over to help install some extra magnet switches to my cabinet doors, no more using my Apex app directly to do it!

Also fixed my filter roller and replumbed my second return pump as a closed loop. Will need to cut down my overflow again because the one side cannot handle all the flow from the abyzz a200 when at 85%.

Photos in a bit... when I know it doesn't leak.

Big day to correct some problems and hopefully stave off a die off thanks to @HouseofStark for all the help! I've started seeing recession on several SPS and LPS while my softies have never looked better.
Between holidays, year end work, and being sick the tank took a back seat... guess what happened.

- Salinity went low due to skimmer taking out water and not checking. Was use to having a salinity probe but I'm still without one.
- ATO is set to shut off when pH is above 8.32 since it runs through the kalk reactor. However, with dry winter air it hasn't been keeping up and the pH is solid at 8.33. Then the ato pump failed (internal gears were plastic and ground out). Possibly do to too much pressure on the screw down cap causing extra resistance.
- Water/salinity subsequently suffered more as I wasn't always around to top it off. Alkalinity and calcium fell as a result as well.
- Rollermat was offline temporarily and skimmer wasn't functioning properly due to fluctuations in sump height (no ato).

Today we hooked up a new ato pump, ran lines for auto water change unit, dosed in some more additives, wire management, fixed auto lights on doors, repaired sealant pan under stand, added salt to mixing station, dismantled dual carbon reactor into a single unit, cut down over flow box height, and fed the fish.

Today must've been the day reefers got caught back up on their tanks.

Can I have some of that 8.33 pH water?
Even with pulling in fresh air through my skimmer, my pH levels hover around 7.83. And I haven't started my CaRx yet?!?

Kalc is all that's doing it, after my mods to the reactor it seems to work really well at that but still not keeping up with water or supplement demand since the pH is staying hi. Without it the swing (most recently and normally) is 8.12-8.25.

Good news is i got to look top down, I almost forgot how vibrant the colors are that way. Not my best photos but those will be for next time. Reds in particular I have trouble with.

As my equipment has fallen out of warranty I went through and cut a bunch of cords. Some I shortend significantly and others I added those waterproof quick connects.

Especially going to make cleaning the skimmer and carbon reactor much easier.

which waterproofof quick connects did you use? i want to add some quick connects for tunze pumps to make the cleaning less a pita.

I should add that @HouseofStark gave me a good suggestion. When you wire it up cut the three leads to different lengths. Then when it's wired back together you can maintain a nice cord without the knot of wire.

They work. If you could find a true "quick connect" vs the fine screw I would. I likely won't screw mine together going forward since the o-ring is sufficient and it's also snug enough not to pull apart.

how do you make the connections looks good? just heat sink wrap the connections?

wondering if there are less involve options.

Anemone split today... does anyone else throw their hands up in the air and say 'why God why' when this happens or just me?

Nope! Unless I am trying to get it to grow large for a centerpiece nem like my sherman, I am thrilled when they split! It helps though to have a dedicated tank for them so no coral is harmed in the process lol
