I did a thing…. IM SR-120 incoming (1 Viewer)

Work is underway for the electronics mount/power supply cabinet. I’ll place this behind the middle door of the stand. I have a 10 gallon tank I will put in the right door for my ATO. I may stick a gallon bucket down there for the skimmer to drain into. Left door will get some shelves to hold all the tool, foods, and extras needed.

waiting on some more rock to start working on that. May have to call in the big guns and see if we can recreate the rock work we did for my 80. It was my favorite

Well got busy running and organizing wires. Just waiting on a few extension cables and my power heads. After they arrive I’ll get them in the onto rock work. Once it’s full I’m going to let it run for a few months without lights. During that time I’ll be designing how I want to mount my 4 primes above it. Also deciding if I want to run their 4 individual power supplies or make 1 to run all 4….

Slower day today getting stuff done. Got the sand rinsed and in. Just over and inch deep. Took a AI prime mount and reworked it how I want. I’m going to use 2040 to make a mount for my 4 primes.

had to do some after storm clean up first!

Didn’t like the idea of 4 separate goosenecks on the tank. So I ordered some 2040 and printed up some of my brackets. Hopefully finish it up next week.

Well I nuked the rock from the last tank and added new. I like odd structures but I think this is how it’s going to get put together.

Looks pretty cool

Finished up the mounts for the lights. Time to change the DI resin and start filling ( might wait till the weekend for that). Now to make some covers for the back. IM won’t sell me more cabinet doors.

Managed to get a lot done on the tank the last few days. Back panels are installed! Looks like I need to order lenses for my primes.

For what it's worth, when I had a primes lens melt I called them (just to confirm I was ordering the correct lens) and they actually opted to send me the replacement lens free of charge. Might be worth the call if you want to save a few $$.

Problem is I only bought 1 of them new. I must have missed it on the used ones I got. Also the color is off so I think the led puck has issues too. But I’ll have to tinker a little more. But I may try calling anyway having more extras can’t hurt right 😂

Gotcha. Well again, for what it’s worth I was totally honest with the guy when I called. Told him I bought them used etc. I was just looking to make sure I purchased the correct one. And he insisted, “Nope, I appreciate your honesty, but they shouldn’t have melted, we will make it right.” Really great customer service. I was impressed.

Well it’s been a few weeks. I had a family vacation for a couple weeks. Got back and filled the box with water last Monday. Tanks been up and running for about a week. I’m giving it a couple weeks to get everything slimy before I go adjusting stuff to much. I have the return pumps on the lowest setting and I feel it’s way more filter flow than it needs. I made some covers for the overflows to help keep the salt spray to a minimum. Let the cycling fun begin!

For this "not really being a build thread" turned out to be a really nice build! Everything is so well laid out.

Really dig that cord management. Gotta get me some of that

Yea I guess even with out designing a stand it still got pretty involved. Just need to figure out what I’m doing in the left cabinet with tools and some supplies.

Well all of the inhabitants seem to be doing good in the small tank after a month. Would like to find a Naked clown to go with my mocha but they seem hard to find right now.

The big take is starting to rise in ammonia! So here we go!

I saw TSM Aquatics had a naked clown in stock yesterday.

Well the tank is going to get drained. The tank is slightly un level. It’s not a huge deal but enough it’s bugging me. It was level before I filled it. I think it has something to do with the tile and the foam they had you put under the corners. The right end of the tank needs to come up just under 1/8”

I’m going to need to find a few more containers to hold some water while we do this.

Well it took a few weeks to get things lined up. Today was the day! Tank got drained and leveled back out. It’s been refilled and I can get it to the max water line without it sounding horrible in the overflow. Need to lift the filter cup a little bit so you don’t hear the big rush of water, but it should be ready for its clowns next week.
