Well something is going on with my ro water.

And might need to buy new calibration fluid or a new refractometer
The rest I’m not sure about other than mag.

Which service do you use for your test? I think the Tin elevation is usuall from a magnetic if I’m not mistaken

ATI

That would make sense since i had a magnet on a glass cleaner showing signs of rust.

Think the ro might be an issue with my pump I’m using to move water. I see a screw on top that is rusted. So maybe swap that out for a sicce utility pump and new hose just to be safe. Assuming that’s the issue and not the new top off container I had built.

Yeah I am going to send in a test and see what kind of havoc I can discover. Good luck

The zinc is for sure from a rusty screw or magnet. Tin is usually from new PVC pipe or hose in my experience.

Not sure on the Silicon. Mine was a little high on the last ICP. I was thinking it was maybe from the silicone hose I have to decouple my return pump. But it never was an issue before and the hose has been in use for 4 years so idk.

Refractometer was dead on. So not sure how my salinity got so low. Thinking the playing around I do with my return pump must have triggered to much fresh ro to go in But will adjust at my next water change.

Drain and cleaned the ro container in the basement. My top off container will be empty by Sunday so I’ll top it off with new water.

Think I’ll go back to a small dose of chaeto grow for the iodine.

Where the tin came from I’m not sure or what to do about it. Maybe my acrylic top off container is leaching but I hope not since it newer lol.

All this messing around sure got me excited about the tank again. Even jokingly looked at a larger tank for more tang swimming room. But think they will just be visiting for a few months but if they end up taking permanent residence larger is gonna have to happen. To many corals and not enough free space for swimming.

Need some ideas for good led blues to add to a 6 bulb ati. It came with a xho but it appears to be maybe a 50/50. Would 2 xho on each side be the way to go or a pair of orphek. Just want it for moon lights and ramping up and down like the primes do now. Wanting longer light period since I see the tank super early and then again later to the day. Might try seeing if the primes would fit in the canopy and I could just use those as my blues and uv maybe. Since I have 4 maybe one in each corner pointing towards the center would cover.

Quanta pros are WAY better for the $ than Orphek. There’s also GHL Mitras 3 bars in every length and color combo which are super nice.

Feel free to come check out my Quanta!

He is releasing a new version with 4x diodes per reflector instead of 2x and 10v control next month!

After dumping out my ro water yesterday and making new I burned through the last of my anion filter and this caused a large color change in my DI filter. So I changed out the anion this am and noticed the date from when I changed it last. I went 5 months to almost the day before needing to change it out. Thats awesome It last as long as it does. Way better then when i was changing out Di every 8 weeks.

Sharing a few pictures I took yesterday. Seems like everyone is getting along so far. Nutrients jumped now that I’m feeding so maybe more fish. Turned fuge light back to being on 6 hours at night and dropped my No3 dose by 10ml. Will test again next week but hopefully I won’t have new struggles to deal with IMG_3278.jpegIMG_3277.jpeg

Gotta keep a better eye on my Co2 media. Swapped out one of the canister fro new and instantly saw a jump in PH.

What media are you using? I got some from BRS on sale this last time and it’s absolutely trash compared to the Jorvet. nearly impossible to see the color change and doesn’t absorb as much co2.

Damn you!! Another items now added to my cart because of another product you mentioned. 😂😂😂😂😂

Took some time but things seems to be redialing in again. Salinity back to 35ppt. And it seems my return pump is holding steady. Adding in the rowaphos and it seems to be helping with the Po4 a little. Test again in a week and see if I need to add more to get it a little lower. Bit I'm not to concerned with where its at currently.

Po4 .15 (like to see this below .05, but all the algae I add for the tangs im sure is not helping)
No3 17
Alk 8.8
