Nice work Jon!
What are you planning to cover the walls with(regular or green sheetrock or something else)?

Nothing on the sides of the tank. Need the room for cords and magnets. The top I will probably green board.

sorry to be so intrusive but is your town home a 3 bedroom upstairs, with living, dining, kitchen on main level and a full basement? That fireplace looks awfully familiar to me.

old picture but you get the gist:

Bleh, a tank is better than a fireplace. Much more interesting and provides plenty of heat in the winter time :)

Lots to do. A little nervous with the structural integrity of the old fireplace box that hangs off the side of the house. Granted it is built on trusses I am going to be spending most of my day off reinforcing it. Depending on time I am going to try and route 6 1/4" lines to the basement on the other side of the house where the rodi, dosing supplies and fresh saltwater will be located.

Well I ended up getting it reinforced and it should be solid as a rock now. Also painted the back of the tank and placed a order at brs for a litermeter top off module and a rodi. If I can get my hands on a 40 breeder for a sump I might be able to do a leak test and level the stand this weekend. Then once that is done I can start trimming out the woodwork around the tank.

Tank is 3/4 full of water right now for the leak test and will be starting on plumbing and then trimming out the outside with oak.

Wow hard to believe I haven't done anything for two months so I figured it was time to make a little headway. I got the sump baffles glued tonight and then hope to have it plumbed on Wednesday.

Crap at the rate I'm going I'll be lucky to have the trim on 2 months from now. :gay1:

Now we're moving.

Plumbing done, leak test done, Herbie overflow done and it's slient. ;)

Almost all the oak is done, Still need to install center piece on bottom and order the cabinet doors and trim the outside.

Used quarter round to frame in the viewing area. Kind of hard to see with the camera phone.

I'd cut that emergency drain short so its a couple inches above the water level. Then you can see and hear when it has water in it to alert you that something might have gotten in the drain, etc and needs attention.
