Redwingers 75 gallon in wall build (1 Viewer)

Nice. 1 question, what are you going to do with ventilation? Or did i miss something?

Ventilation is going to be handled as needed. Depending on what the temps are on the tank and ph stability I will grab the router and build some vents into the doors with small fans or vent to the outside of the house.

Ammonia is starting to read at .5ppm. Added the second dose of prodibio tonight and we will see where we are at in a week. Also finalized the lights an controller and have them on order. I think I might relocate about 40% of the rock to the sump when I do the final aqua scape. I want a very minimalistic layout with plenty of room for corals to grow and fish to swim.

That look really nice. Nice job :)

Thanks!

Got the apex programmed and moved the tunzes to one end of the tank. This contoller is just amazing. The programming allows for some pretty random and chaotic flow. I have programmed it for a wave mode during the day that creates a nice back and forth motion and then also added a couple flush modes that run off timers that switch it up during the day. pumps will flush every 2 hours for 10 minutes. The other flush mode happens at night and is at a reduced flow. This seems to be doing a great job at creating random flow and also keeping things suspended.

Did I miss it? What did you decide on for the lights?

Went with a tek 5 fixture with 2 blue plus, ati purple and 3 actinic plus bulbs.
Really liking the t-5's and can't wait to get some fuzzy sticks under them.

is that the final rockwork structure? :beerchug:

Started Kalk dosing to bring up the ca and kh. All params in check. Ammonia, nitrites and nitrates are all reading 0. Going to do a series of water changes over the next week and then try some corals if the params are still stable and in check.

John, you seem to have forgotten the sand! :gay1:

It's good to see that you've fallen of the wagon. I look forward to getting back in myself.

Nope just ordered up my 48" x 24" x 1/4" piece of white sand . Also ordered some oak grommets for two 4" fans for the top of the canopy.

Temp is fluctuating about 1.5 degrees a day with out any ventilation. These two fans should keep it stable this summer when the temps rise.

Cycle is complete. I'm am attributing the extremely fast cycle to the prodibio I have been dosing. I will be making it a part of my dosing regimen in the future. Still gonna wait for a couple more weeks before I start with some sps frags.

Next weekend I hope to get the dosers set up and dialed in the following week.

So a busy week lies ahead.

Install fans
Cut acrylic substrate and do final aqua scape
Install dosers and program

I have been running into a issue with the GFCI blowing randomly. There was no stray voltage to be found any where with in the tank. After doing some research I found out it is the ballast for the T-5's. Apparently there is quite a few instances where T5 ballasts will leak voltage back and blow sensitive GFCI's. I had one GFCI that was protecting all the outlets so power would go down on the whole system. So today I removed the sump and rewired the outlets so the GFCI is at the last part of the circuit. I am picking up another EB8 this weekend so I can have all my pumps on one EB8 that is plugged into the GFCI and the other plugged into a non protected outlet that will run just components that are not in any contact with the water.

Installed the substrate tonight and did a 20 gallon water change. All params are stable so it is time to get ca and alk in check and might try a frag or two next week. The white acrylic makes a huge difference in the tank appearance. Managed a weekend off of work so I should have plenty of time to work on the tank unless I have a few to many pints Saturday at the red bull crashed ice.:beerchug:

While waiting for the HVAC guy to fix my furnace, I was able to get the dosers installed along with another EB8 and get them programmed. Next is to install the fans in the canopy. And then hunt for some frags.

:greenguy:Time to start stocking with some sps. If anyone has frags of nice sps let me know! Also the wifey likes zoas so a couple frags of those would work to. PM me what you have and a price.
