I did notice he hasn't grown much for 12mo so I'm upping my feeding even though all the fish are thick and healthy.

Happy plumbing weekend!
@HouseofStark and my brother helped me replumb the tank. I now have my primary pump inputting on both sides of the tank as well as my closed loop.
It seems to be generating quite a bit more flow overall as a result and is allowing me to ramp up and down my closed loop fairly significantly to disrupt the flow patterns.
Few more photos later, this cleaned up and opened up a lot of space in the sump.
Removing the old manifold and scavenging pipe. The pipe cutter worked like a dream! No shavings, no need to chamfer, and pretty square cuts.
Pondering my life choices after struggling to get the bulkhead removed. For some reason these plumbing projects always come together differently once I start holding pieces together.
Installed a camera to watch the plumbing as this took from 10am to 6pm to complete. Good news is my tank only dropped 1.5 degrees in that time.
