Alright, We all know, we can't stay away from this hobby for too long.
It's time for a new start, and this time, it will need to stay small for the next few years. There are too many month-long travel plans for the foreseeable future.

Water Flow
Since nem will be in such a small tank, I opt to use a spray bar instead of a powerhead.
I tested more than ten configurations between slots and/or holes. This turned out to be the best configuration, giving me a very nice flow throughout the tank.
now, I just need to 3d print some covers for the back chamber.

ATO/water change
I always had a fish room, so I got a water change station, ATO container size, and how to fill it up was never a problem before.
Show me some way you guys deal with the ATO container, topping off ATO without spilling, and mixing water for the water change solution.

3-4g should be enough. I want to see some setups and get some ideas. i don't want to deal with water spill, so the container need to got a big opening, how to transfer water from bucket/jug to the ATO easily without spill is more my focus. I can always fit in more than 1 time per week.

I pump my water from a 35 gallon brute to my ato container with a python hose and j hook. I use a Christmas light controller to be able to turn the pump on and off. Super easy and no spilling. I just had a custom acrylic jug made so I can keep more then a weeks worth of water so I minimize the number of times I have to top off the ato to once a week.

Ive seen other just swap out the ato container using those larger portable water jugs. I dont like this because I never seem to be able to get all the water bubble out from under the ato pump The first time.

That's a no-go for now. I don't have a spot to set up the water change station(even a small one). That's how I did water changes before, and it works great with the remote switch. I need to move things around to see if I can find a spot in the laundry room, as my house has 4 lvl splits. The tank is two floors from the laundry room; it will be a hard sale to the wife. lol

I use an advanced acrylics ATO tank and fill it with a 5g jug like this. No splashiest. Trigger systems always has blemished ATO tank on their website for deep discount.

Building the ATO isn't a problem. I just want to see what I need to build to minimize the chance of spill and ease of refill. I like the IM ATO with a drawer that you can pull out for refill so far. anyone got any experience with that?

Sounds to me like you’ve got a few under stair storage locations for more remote reef stuff.

Printing some covers for the back chamber. Try to keep any noise or splash to minimum.

Been a long time since I got sand.

Go with smart power strip, so I can do voice control to turn on and off things when I do water change or topping off the ATO reservoir.
